Same. Imagine how much that part of Tumblr would hate, say, Blazing Saddles. However, Blazing Saddles taught me so well that racism (and others, of course, but that's the relevant one) is so heavily dependent on context. See also, Huck Finn, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc.

Also, I don't care how many people complain about sexism in horror movies. I still love them, and I think most of the complainants don't watch enough horror movies. There are plenty of awesome women, plenty of movies devoid of sexism.

God knows horror has a lot of weird, sexist tropes kinda baked into it, but that doesn't make the genre devoid of value. And, as you say, there's tons of movies that avert or subvert those tropes. (The Descent leaps to mind, for example.)

Hell, I backed the Kickstarter for a slasher movie directed by a 13-year-old girl. I don't know if that's feminist but it's AWESOME AS SHIT.
