I loved their friendship. And I may have shipped a tiny bit even if I mostly OTP'd Jadzia/Worf and preferred their relationship platonic. I just loved this idea of a friendship that lasted for two lifetimes.

Really, Farrell was just so good at pulling off the old soul in a young body thing. You could see both Jadzia's youth and Dax's age and maturity. She really was a blend of the two (something I never got with Ezri who always just seemed young to me).

I think a good chunk of the credit was goes to the writers and Avery Brooks as well; the way he called her "old man" all the time just ... for me it was the perfect detail.

(Damn, I really need to rewatch now :p)

I've been meaning to do a re-watch as well, now that I've been seeing some Trek secrets. The series was astonishingly prescient in some ways - "sanctuary districts"/the effective refusal to seriously consider reducing unemployment among people of color, "security state" behavior, overreaction and ineffective responses to threats, bending or breaking laws in secret in the name of prosecuting a possibly indefinite war - the list goes on.
