There's a big difference between wanting a Ferrari or to lose weight and wanting someone else to stop doing something they're enjoying so that they will do something YOU enjoy instead, though. One is just wishful thinking but the second does carry a certain amount of entitlement to it. It's implying that they believe that the person should be spending their time in the way OP wants and that whatever the person is doing instead is somehow 'lesser' or not worthy of their time.

That is an extremely selfish way of thinking. If a writer I like stops writing for my fandom, sure, I'll be disappointed, but I'm not going to sit there and wish for them to leave their new fandom, because THAT is selfish and entitled of me. "I wish this person would write more fic" is not the same thing as "I'm glad this person isn't doing this other thing anymore so that they can write more fic for me to read." One is selfish, the other is just expressing a wish.

How hard is that for you to comprehend?
