idk, it seems like OP is motivated by no one commenting, but there being a chance it'll happen, than removing the option entirely and knowing what'll happen

In one of the OP's comments above they mention being unable to disable comments because they post anonymously to avoid their name being attached, so I kind of thought that indicated that they would disable comments if they could. Idk tho.

if they really wanted to disable comments, couldn't they make a sock account though? given, i'm not really familiar with fanfic sites and am vaguely aware that AO3 used invite codes, so the barrier to getting an account might be higher than what i'm expecting.
