I think it's possible that Dean Winchester could be bisexual (more siding with liking women than men though). He has knowledge of terminology used in the LGBT community, said things to others that could be taken in a homoerotic context (the only other main character who also does this is Crowley), and has been in homoerotic situations. I could see him coming across an old fling in an episode or mentioning it absentmindedly.

However, I don't see Dean/Castiel as canon. I don't even see the signs pointing towards it. I feel like I'm blind to this canon subtext people keep talking about. Either way, I don't ship it ever since Dean mentioned he thinks of Castiel as a brother.

Yeah, I liked their relationship in season 4-5, and I think there was potential at the time, but with the way things are now no way.

Destiel isn't canon, but "Dean and Cas are soooo gay lol" jokes are (or were, when I stopped watching). Of course the writers aren't any more serious about hooking Dean and Cas up based on gay jokes than they are about hooking Sam and Dean up based on the same damn thing, but that doesn't stop fandom from running with it and gaining momentum with each "lol ghey" crack the writers choose to make.

Except there was like one joke so far? I don't get where the abundance of these jokes are supposedly coming from. The last one I remember was Dean telling Cass to get out of his ass, which had to do with Castiel spying on them in season 6. I'm surprised people haven't been jumping on slash shipping Crowley with people, considering he's straightforward with his subtext and jokes.

AYRT

Aside from the ass joke, when Balthazar says to Dean, "I'm sorry, you have me confused with the other angel. You know, the one in the dirty trenchcoat who's in love with you?" Then when Dean says to Cas (while Castiel is eyeballing him), "Well, Cas, not for nothing, but last person who looked at me like that, I got laid." Then when Castiel tells Sam, because he shows up much faster for Dean than Sam, "Dean and I do share a more profound bond." (Played for laughs.) That's all I remember before I stopped watching; for all I know, it stopped after S6, but I think it was around that time fandom really went off the rails with Destiel. From what I hear, though, they haven't gotten any less codependent, but unlike Sam and Dean, don't have an incest taboo standing in the way. Hence all the crazy.

As for Crowley, I dunno, it's probably because Cas is a more popular character. I ship Dean/Benny, so it's all meh to me.

Firmly believe Crowley slept with Dean at some point when Dean was a demon.

OP

This would not surprise me at all.

Yeah, pretty much.
