I was going to suggest fire department. Less having to cover your ass. You save someone from a burning building, they're saved. You don't have to have a whole force investigation for discharging your weapon.

In that vein, there's also EMT. My brother became an EMT as training to be a firefighter, but he decided to stay an EMT because he liked the work and the people.

I do terribly badly in highly hierarchical structures. I know from experience.
