I have thought about it, actually. I even worked abroad briefly. I'm currently re-evaluating careers, but the problem is I'm in a fairly specific field and I'm not all that good at other things. Just starting to flip burgers simply for the change isn't a grand plan, either.

The problem is I already pretty much started over from scratch once before. I could again, I guess, though I have more people to lose now. I'm just at the point where it feel like, I dunno, running? While really what I'm looking for is belonging?

Sure I could go work broad for a year or so, but it's not really something I see as a permanent thing. At this point, really, I have a lot of trouble imagining what I want to do. Especially long-term. Well, except for being a superhero ;)

I don't know about cop or soldier, but you might actually qualify to be an EMT. My brother's only prior training was a poetry degree.

Well, my degree would be about as relevant as your brother's. Still, it's not something I looked into before as I assumed it required some sort of medical training.

I did a bit of digging. There are some classes involved, but it looks manageable even if you don't have a medical background. http://www.wikihow.com/Become-EMT-Certified
