The character by himself is fine. It's his relationships with the other characters that annoy me.

Yeah, this. He was almost completely unnecessary in the last episode. I mean, I'm happy that we got a Jenny and Abbie episode. I just wish the writers didn't feel the need to insert him into it.

The triangle feels very forced, even for a love triangle.

The writing in season 2 is not nearly as good as season 1. The Pied Piper episode was just bad, and they keep sending interesting characters away after one episode.

It really does.

Tbh, Hawley has become the manifestation of all that is wrong with this season to me. I mean, I liked him, but damn. He seems to be created just to cause conflict between the sisters. He is just not needed.

And don't forget how Abbie barely seems like she's one of the main characters anymore. Or that Jenny has barely appeared this season. Ditto Irving. Now that he's escaped, maybe we will see more of his character.

Also, forever bitter that they killed Caroline. Wish she'd become part of the team instead of Hawley.

That's a good way to describe him. Corbin's son could've filled the roll of 'providing weird artifacts and advice about the supernatural' just fine. Then we'd have a link to Abbie's past, and more time to spend on Irving trying to escape Henry, and Jenny being awesome.

Oh, and whatever happened to Reyes? Haven't seen her in a few episodes.

I do like John Noble though. He seems like he's having such a good time playing the bad guy. He's one of the better parts of this season. I'm curious about his relationship with the Headless Horseman.

Corbin's son would have been a much better fit for all of the reasons you've stated. Ugh, this season could have been great. So disappointed that we didn't get that instead.

Reyes was in the first bit of the last episode. She gave Abbie the Tarrytown case.

I rather like him too. You can tell he's having a ton of fun.

What I've never understood is why the show doesn't have Jenny do the whole 'providing weird artifacts and advice about the supernatural' schtick. She's the one who worked with Corbin directly for years, obtaining artifacts for him. It seems like a waste of potential not to have her fulfill that role.

Oooh, that's a good point. Although, she spent a lot of time in the hospital which isn't conducive to keeping up with the latest trends in the supernatural artifact industry. Still, she and Corbin Jr. could've teamed up and talked about their feelings for Abbie and been rivals when it came to providing supernatural neutralizers and been friends when the chips were down and we could've had another great duo to watch.

Show, y u no give us this?

I'm not sure I would have wanted Caroline as a part of the team. But I would have liked her as a recurring background character. I think characters like that broaden the world.

Ayrt

Well, maybe not part of the team, but a reccurring character would have been nice. I liked her personality and her scenes with Ichabod. Would have loved to see reenactment shenanigans with the two.

I actually liked the Pied Piper episode best of all the episodes this season- mostly because it was one of the few that didn't have a forced tie-in back to the Moloch storyline. The writers seem convinced that they need to focus everything on Moloch and Henry/Jeremy, but they don't have any real idea of how to do it, so the plots wind up feeling poorly planned and nonsensical. Add to that the shoehorning in of Hawley, the show-don't-tell focus on Katrina's powers (she's a powerful witch and yet she gets knocked on her ass in almost every scene she's in?) and it's no wonder the ratings are dropping like a rock. It's just a shame that the writers are sniping at fans on twitter instead of taking into account that they're alienating their audience.

Wait, the writers are sniping at fans? Details please.
