Re: Animator Expo ME!ME!ME!

Yeah my feelings are kind of mixed on that. I see how we can think that a commentary on addiction was intended (with the way the video loop, the creepy imagery and how some shots are played) but at the same time... well it certainly looks like the animators/script writer had fun putting in as much fanservice as they could.
It's kind of a double-edged sword if that's the message because if some will find it nauseating, without really reading a lot of the discussion, I managed to find quite a bunch of people who happily masturbated to it, took ton of screenshots and gifs of the fanservice moments. That would be quite a fail in that case!

Another thing unclear with it is one of the female characters that some interpreted as a girlfriend he left, while others thought it was just his 2D Waifu. Because all the girls have the sameface, it's kinda hard to tell so I don't know what they intended with those "sad moments" (maybe nothing, if it's just supposed to be simply guro fanservice in the end). Having the otaku character in a style different than the 2D ones would have been neat too I think.

So yeah, in the end I don't really know what to think about it.
I liked The Dragon Dentist even if it was a little unclear too, the idea could lead to a nice series.
Hill Climb Girl was okay, I'm not fond of the 3D designs but the main character was fun. (Didn't understand why the boy was suddendly going "woah wait you're awesome" when she beat him, because it's not like she seemed to lose by far before that ? Maybe it's just her perseverance that did it, I guess)
