This. In every fandom I've been in, I've not liked any of the juggernaut ships.

Same, at least usually.

In my last two fandoms I ended up shipping the juggernaut pairings without realizing it, and both times were the worst fandom experiences I've ever had.

I'd rather not ID the ships themselves -- one I got into before I realized they were the fandom darlings, and the second I was there at the start of the show and never would've predicted my ship would become the huge ship for the fandom.

Why were they bad? Endless wank, immature fangirls hating on each other, rampant OOCness, awful BNFs... the list goes on.

I don't think there's as much pressure or drama surrounding smaller and more obscure pairings, at least not in my experience. I'd take that these days in exchange for less fanwork, tbh.

That's fair enough. There does seem to be a lot of drama and such when it comes to juggernaut ships or popular ships in general. That's one of the few upsides to shipping rarepairs and less popular ships.

I'm not sure if I could say the same though.
