But the movie doesn't take place in Japan, it takes place in a fictional place. Just like Frozen. Disney felt the need to diversify this movie but not their previous ones, why is that?

Besides, while japanese people are not a minority in Japan, they are a minority when it comes to Disney animated films in particular and Hollywood in general.
