I disagree. If only because I was never into superheroes as a kid but I quite enjoy some of the films. I found the emotional relationships in Captain America to be genuinely touching and well-done. There's also a good mix of POC and women in those films. The action's good and the storyline works well enough.

I don't think the films of previous generations (Star Wars) were any more mature to be honest.
