Ugh, Chakotay/Seven. I had missed a bunch of episodes of the latter half of the last season of Voyager on account of being abroad, so when I watched the finale and they were together, I thought "Well, obviously I missed a lot!" Then I watched what I had missed and, no, actually I didn't miss much. They were just suddenly together... and had zero chemistry.

The only reason it happened was Beltram kept bitching about the show once he knew he didn't have to worry about being canned and to shut his mouth they crammed Jeri Ryan's tongue in it. No one knows what Ryan did to piss of the producers that they chose her though.

I like to pretend that Chakotay and Seven only got together because of their mutual unrequited feelings for Janeway. There was no hope, and they decided to at least suffer together in companionship rather than each alone.

Really? I like to pretend an alien made them do it. Specifically that something from Neelix's cooking laid an egg in their liver and made them do it. Eventually they went for a proper check up, the Doc cured them and they went on their separate ways.

Nah, it was just a bad dream on Janeway's part. She couldn't look either of them in the eye for a week afterwards, and she never mixed whiskey into her coffee ever again.

I still sort of ship Chakotey with Janeway. No-one will convince me they would not have made a well-balanced couple that would be good for each other.

They would have made a lot more sense and been more fun tan Chakotay/Seven.
