Books in the bathroom

(Anonymous) 2014-11-23 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes you know it's going to be a while and you don't always have your phone/tablet with you. So what books do you keep in the bathroom?

I have 5 different books from Noel Botham of 'useless information'. Good lists and tidbits sort of thing.

Generally, all my incoming National Geographics see a tour if duty in the bathroom.

Pretty much whatever I'm reading at the moment. I do end up having several in there, though, because it doesn't occur to me to take them back out. Currently, Adventures of Sherlock Holmems, this sci-fi/fantasy Holmes anthology, and a book of French short stories.

I just keep whatever I'm reading. It's where I do the majority of my book-reading anyway!

Magazines and catalogs, usually.

That's what the Bathroom Reader series is for!

It changes depending on what I'm reading, but the The Scary Stories Treasury stays in there all the time. I actually have a small shelf in there just for books.

I'm reading the entire Game of Thrones books only when I go to the bathroom. Five minute increments since I bought the first one back in March. I'm just about to finish book 4. Not going to be lending these copies out though.

I have "A History of Private Life" which discusses all aspects of personal life in Western Europe (mainly France and Italy) during the Renaissance, and a book of translated Latin poetry

Catalogues for miscellaneous items sold by huge warehouses (curtains, makeup, useless shit, etc.)

Back when I had them, I'd always keep an encyclopedia in the bathroom. I always came out learning something new!

The idea of taking reading material into the bathroom grosses me out no end. Do your business and get out of there!

Same goes for taking my phone into the bathroom--plus, I've just heard too many stories from people who have dropped their phone in the toilet.
