This. A romantic relationship with Sherlock is really not what Molly needs, it's just what she thinks she wants. He wouldn't be good for her and she'd probably just end up dumping him before long. For his part, I can really only see Sherlock going for it out of loneliness because John wasn't available as much anymore (see The Empty Herse) and thought making romantic overtures was the price he had to pay for friendship in this case.

I'd love to see them have a bit closer of a friendship in a co-conspirators, "we get each other" kind of way, with no pining or hard feelings and Sherlock not being excessively manipulative (because he can't get away with it anymore). I felt that's sort of where they were going in season 3.
