I'm kind of intrigued by this concept. Why not? Lots of old folklore is pretty frightening and twisted, it'd be pretty awesome to see the horror genre inserted into a fantasy setting. And no, I wouldn't really call Martin "horror fantasy", more like "mature fantasy" (i.e. lots of rape and boobs and shock value plot points just so you know how gritty and ~real~ it is)

Yeah, this is why I like Dark Souls so much. It doesn't have the political drama given the nature of the game and its setting but it's got everything else and is as much a survival horror as anything else.
