Yup.

Nobody in that particular book was likeable at all, but this character took the cake.

The book is called 'When the Killing's Done' and it is the most pretentious, self-important rag I ever read. The story takes place off the California coast. The National Park Service, represented by pregnant drunk lady, are trying to eradicate some invasive species. Radical ecologists, represented by an angry eco-terrorist who may be mentally ill, will not let that happen without a fight (which leads to the death of one of his followers).

Pregnant lady has a celebratory drink when she finds out she's pregnant, and when her equally self-righteous and uninteresting baby daddy leaves she really hits the bottle.

For some reason this book has an average of more than four stars on Amazon. God only knows why.

It was. I only read it for a library book club. I wanted to try something new literature-wise, read something I wouldn't normally choose to read.

Never again. I am done expanding my mind and boundaries with new genres and ideas.
