It kinda is though. I was was asking what's wrong with someone making an indulgent video game and pretty much everything you've given so far is that it alienates the potential audience or doesn't belong in that kind of game.

And also that's kinda why pretty people sell, yeah?

They sell because we're conditioned to it through onslaught. As you can see, there's been a massive backlash in recent years because a pretty face means nothing if the story is shit. Hence a lot of secrets complaining about such.

Also, when a good portion of the market is "indulgent" games (read: games where straight white men are rounded characters but no other race or sex or sexuality is), there's a problem.

I think people like looking at pretty people is more likely than "we're conditioned to it", but I can agree a well-told is more important than an attractive cast.

I also agree that a lack of variety and demographic appeal in games is a serious problem, but I don't think that means indulgent games that appeal to straight white men should stop being made.
