AOS Kirk annoys me in fandom

I wanted to read K/S fic the other day because a Star Trek is a comfort fandom, but AOS Kirk is mostly just really annoying to me now. I like the fics that meld him more with his TOS counter part and mellow him out (read: make him a less immature and less of a slut-- not that's there is anything wrong with Kirk liking sex, but the "cool dude who has lots of sex with sexy chicks and doesn't know their name" trope is annoying me lately). Fandom Tony Stark is annoying me in the same way as AOS Kirk, as well.

My problem with AOS Kirk in fanfictions is that IMO they make him OOC and he actually isn't so bad in the movies.
An example is when they make him a bitch with Uhura and someone who hates her and will try to get in the way of her relationship with Spock. In canon I think he really cares for her as much as he cares for Spock and Bones. I get the fic is k/s, but making him go from the guy who wanted to date her but became her friend instead and respected her relationship with the vulcan guy, to this guy who is annoyed by her and has no problem trying to steal her boyfriend is just so much.

I think his bad childhood and the fact he never had an example of good relationship in his life is barely addressed too because I don't think he's a slut or uncaring.
