I boosted my level 8 monk because I got no interest leveling one. Not looking forward to harder tanking and healing! My sister's main is a healer so she won't enjoy that.

I use Curse already. And fortunately most of my addons still work. I love Bartender, though I only use it on my main. Garrisons are something I will have to read up a lot on. I don't understand them at all.

Garrisons are pretty straight forward! Think of it as your own town. You have followers that come with different traits (the better their color, the more traits they have) Say you're a jewel crafter and you have a follower who is a jewel crafter. At lvl two you can make that guy go to work for you. With him working there, you get a perk that gives you more taladite from your work orders.

You'll have to send them out on missions as well. If you've ever played the Star Wars MMO, it's kind of like that. You choose what to have them do, it takes a half hour-ten hours, depending on the quest. They either fail or they don't, and you have a success percentage at the start, so you can decide to send them out or not. You'll need resources to upgrade/put in buildings, and you get those from quests/rares/a box outside your town hall/etc.

As for traits, missions have bosses that have a trait(s) themselves. Your followers have a higher success rate if they have a trait that counters the trait the boss has. If they do, they'll show up on the side of the character in the mission menu!

Healing is harder due to the stat squish/the dungeons hitting like trucks. To heal in the heroics/raids, she'll need to beat silver on the proving grounds. It's this place you port into from your garrison that tests your knowledge of your class through an eight round fight. It's all about positioning and skill usage. As a healer, you have to keep an npc alive while he fights.

You automatically get an herb place/mine/fishing hole, btw! You'll need to farm your mine/herb place daily, as they also give things called "primordial spirits". They're used to buy crafting stuff from one of your garrison vendors!
