Re: Canon ships you're not into?
(Anonymous) 2014-11-24 09:57 am (UTC)(link)I never thought he had a thing for Uhura or was more her friend than the other guys. He seemed like an older brother, he didn't seem to be interested about a romance at all.
It's adorable though that they were all nice and protettive with her (even though it made her a bit like Smurfette), especially Kirk.
Re: Canon ships you're not into?
(Anonymous) 2014-11-24 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)Kirk loved the Enterprise as well (and she was often referred to as His lady too) and yet he still sought out romance and fell in love. I feel like this is kind of saying that it's impossible to truly be passionate about your job and have a deeply loving, healthy, committed relationship. Which I think both Scotty and Uhura are capable of doing.
Also, I always thought it was pretty clear that they were romantically interested in each other. Having dates planned and confessing their feelings tends to give one that impression.
