speaking of Bates, Anna would fit more as a Mary Sue. She has no flaws other than she's just too darn sweet and perfect.

I actually (SPOILER) wish she had really killed that guy because that would have been a bit of development away from the sweet and gentle wilting flower she is written as. But you'd think that "character development" killed the writers' parents as much as they hate it.
