Well. I pulled an all nighter to finish a project, then around 8 in the morning I decided to catch an hour and a half of sleep. Unfortunately that turned into 4 hours of sleep and I slept through my 11 am class. I was still able to go to my next class and turn in the project I stayed up all night on though, so that was cool.

Basically it was an adventure in shit sleep schedules.

It was sort of crappy and I blocked up (as I do if I have too much stuff going on) - but I called the editor of one of the places I'm working for, and they extended my deadline, and I still managed to write text for my evening course, even though I'm not entirely thrilled about how it turned out.

I found out my uncle has spinal cancer.

He had the consulation for the prognosis two days ago and no-one has ben able to speak to him since.

Genuinely appreciate the sympathies all. Thank you.

As completely awful as it sounds, my mother and her other brothers have settled on the reality that at the moment it looks like best case scenario is he manages to outlive his mother, because nobody should have to bury their own son. But that's a bridge we'll cross when we come to it.

Toe trauma

Went to the doctor after I accidentally kicked this bench we have and almost ripped the toenail all the way off. I need to watch where I'm walking.

In the morning I asked Jesus to hold my hand so I wouldn't slap anyone. It worked. The afternoon was a little better, thanks to Celtic music and hilarious e-mails from Boston natives who got lost and ended up in the Carolinas.

I did Thanksgiving grocery shopping. Tomorrow I'mma make 2 pies, and the vinaigrette for my green bean salad.

It was kind of boring since I'm on work restriction for the next two weeks. It's really hard to carry mail when the doctor puts a 10 pound lifting max on you. It gave me time to think about getting a new job.

Saw one of my old favourite regulars today. Dude used to drop by at the place I used to volunteer at as well as my work, so it cheered me up to catch up. We chatted about nothing, I made fun of him for locking himself out of his own condo at 3am, he ribbed me for not ascending to better jobhood, and we laughed a bunch.

Later, boss wheedled me into covering another shift because I find it hard to say no when the reason is sad reasons (he's off to a funeral). And then I awkwardly gave him a gentle punch in the shoulder, because I don't actually know how to comfort coworkers when they look like they probably want a hug.

Headache-y all morning because I woke up really early. That was annoying.

Other than that, just uneventful. Packing for holiday travel, hoping snow does not strand me in some airport for an entire weekend.

Went to the doctor thinking I had bronchitis and some kind of allergy rash, but got diagnosed with Parvo instead. It's not a huge deal, but I will be stuck at home for the next week or so while I wait for it to pass.

I wrote a code thing for work that was totally self-indulgent and useful only for one little task of mine that's particularly annoying, . Cleaned litterboxes and took out the trash, and tried desperately to not feel too sick to function after having lost the third pet within a month yesterday. (15 minutes after getting him home from the vet, when I wasn't even sure I needed to take him in because he seemed mostly fine even half an hour before the appointment, but I was wary.) Tried to dig a grave on lunch break today, failed due to health issues exacerbated by cold, and the fact that I basically didn't eat or drink anything yesterday thanks to stress. Hoping my brother will be able to come by tomorrow to help with the digging. Trying to watch TV now but keep seeing the empty cage and getting upset again.

Got flirted with/at by the husband of a French-Canadian veterinarian as I was calling and trying to get in contact with her. It was hilarious, as he immediately said 'oh, but don't tell my wife'. In his Quebecois (?) accent. So funny. And not at all smarmy, just cheeky. Made my day, and made me laugh like crazy, after.

I went to my tax prep exam (part 1) today. Then I went shopping and came home and got pinkeye from looking at my Facebook feed.
