The biggest issue I had was that it seemed like Wilson's indictment was being run as an actual trial. Which is why I feel he got off without actually having to face a jury trial.

That said, I don't think he would have been convicted even by a jury trial -- the conflicting witness testimony and the support by the physical evidence would have cleared him or gotten him convicted of manslaughter at worst.

No he would not have at all. There was no hard evidence that went against Wilson's account of events. Honestly, I would have been appalled if they had convicted him on such shitty evidence.

And there was the testimony of that one (black, before anyone says anything) witness that corroborated his account, too.

Some people were aware of what he did and lied to police about it. The first day of protests they burned down the wrong quik n go and spray painted 'snitches get stitches'. That being the store Michael Brown robbed before getting caught making an ass out of himself in the street with his friend.

Yeah.

At the end of the day, you can't actually put institutionalized racism and unjust systems on trial, unfortunately.
