2.) His fans are literally the most obnoxious group of fans ever.
I already have to deal with creepy and obnoxious Loki/Tom-stans. I don't think my sanity can handle another gaggle of them.

Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis! His fans scare me. (it is already impossible to find good Dr Strange fic. Imagine how it's gonna be once the Cumber-fangirls invade. D:)

And yeah. Casting a non-white actor might do a lot to help with the orientalist imagery connected with the character. (Don't get me wrong. I'm weird in that Strange is one of my top 3 Marvel characters, but I understand why some find this problematic. They did such good, creative work with updating parts of Thor and making the Mandarin work in Iron Man 3, I'm trusting they will spend a thought on this as well.)
