Thinnish person with self esteem and body issues here- love that part of the song. Am I the only one who felt included by the line "I know you think you're fat?" It was like being welcomed into the club of girls who can feel good about this song.
And you know what, yeah, it's nice to have a snippet of popular media saying guys may still like you if you don't look how you think you have to to get a guy- I'm all for feeling body positive but that often feels like it has to come at the cost of ever wanting someone to like you. It seems like body positivity is often presented in a way that makes it feel like the consolation prize for those who can't actually get relationships.

I think the thing with body positivity is that it's focussed on loving yourself and providing your own self-esteem rather than relying on external validation? Which yeah, that'd be awesome, but sometimes, you can't rely on yourself to be everything. You need somebody on the outside to say "You're gorgeous" or "I would date you" as well. Or at least, that's how I see it.
