Re: Ferguson general

Do you seriously think that this would be the first time that someone has been killed for not being deferential enough to the police? When the DA never ever finds that excessive force was used in such cases? In a town where a man was once charged with "destruction of city property" for bleeding on the uniform of one of the officers who was beating him during an "arrest" that ended up being a case of mistaken identity? When none of the officers involved that incident was removed from the department? If so, I've got some swampland in Florida to sell you.

Of course there have been such cases in the past. But in this particular case, considering all available evidence, claiming that "a jaywalker" was shot on the middle of the street through no fault of his own is delusional.

You don't need to put jaywalker in quotes. Unless you are calling the Ferguson PD liars, they didn't know he'd swiped a box of cheap-ass cigarillos from the Kwik-E-Mart before they decided that they needed to clean up the streets by harassing some black kids taking a stand on jaywalking. And no one said that the kid didn't make some dumb choices. But on one side you have two armed, trained, law enforcement officials in a vehicle and in the other you have an unarmed 18-year-old. Excuse me if I hold the people who swore an oath to protect the public, of which the kid they killed was a member, to a higher standard than a jaywalking teenager.

I guess that some people are just so determined victim-blame and lick police boot that they'll excuse anything.
