It would have been nice to see some difficulty in the relationship between her and Shigure, wouldn't it have been? Much as I love the Shigure/Akito, I think that will get a lot of problems and it couldn't have been resolved that easily. Akito would be a pretty hard-headed person, even if she wanted to submit completely, I think her old traits would pop out from time to time.

So true. Plus, Shigure's totally not exactly dating material, no matter how much he'd love Akito. I do love my Shigure/Akito, I just wish it would've been handled less... shoujo-ish, I suppose. The ending was all too sugary for my tastes, especially for them.

Yes, yes. They're two opposing forces, much too alike for everything to work well! And of course, Akito - she's going to take a while before she can really by nicenice and not prone to episodes of extreme hatefulness towards men and everyone else that doesn't bend to her whim in general.

I wish the mangaka had not closed the series so "beautifully", and I wish someone would write goodfic for Akito.

I try to imagine how Akito would be if exposed too the outside world; no doubt, she'd find herself confused when she finds someone else nicer than Shigure... (Confused, of course, but not in love with someone new.)

True. They're both manipulative and underhanded, which really wouldn't work before it'd explode. And of course, they'd get together again, but it wouldn't be mushy and sugary. Her extreme dislike to men and her other quirks that have made up her life as well as her sort-of protection would be extremely hard, if not impossible to get rid of.

Ha, I was surprised that only Momiji didn't end up with someone. Honestly, all the pairing-up made me cringe. And Akito's hard to write.

I'm not sure if she would, actually. She's had a myriad of male personalities in her family, so someone nicer may not throw her off as much as you'd think.

Someone nicer who would love her genuinely and offer a sort of other version of Shigure without the extreme possessiveness and all the issues that come with Shigure.

I hate the pairing between Kureno and Arisa; that was what made me cringe the most.

Admittedly, Akito is hard to write. I end up reading Akito-centric fanfics only to stop halfway or at the beginning because Akito was being potrayed a way I didn't like- either too dramatic and emo or girly.
