6. The thing about Loveless is that it isn't... really even about the shouta, it's just an easy thing to focus on. There are way more heavy BDSM overtones than shouta ones. The shouta is limited to Soubi/Ritsuka and flashback!Ritsu/Soubi, while the crazy bondage battles are all over the damn place.

...well, 'lovers' talk to each other in many different ways. There is no set criteria for how people in a relationship (sexual or romantic) talk to each other. Anyone who's ever gotten laid knows this, I think. I don't even like Franziska/Edgeworth, but you make me want to ship it to spite you.

33. lol @ Franziska being "manipulative." That being said, I went into the games expecting to love that pairing, having heard so much about it and... was very underwhelmed when I barely saw any subtext for it at all. And I actively looked for the subtext. Weird. Mia/Dahlia is hotter, anyway.

I need to stop making secrets while angry, apparently. XD; That's another line I knew I shouldn't have put in. I was trying to get across something like "why do you think this scene is romantic?" but, meh. Came out wrong.

Yes. Yes it did come out wrong.

But if you are seriously getting angry about fictional characters having fictional sex and/or fictional relationships, I really don't think all the clear wording in the world can save you.

The subtext is small but telling. Again, the games do single out a bond between Franzy and Adrian; that much is really undeniable. I choose to view it as having romantic potential, I fully understand that other people don't :P

JFA: Adrian says that Franziska left her with the offer to call at any time if she needed anything.

T&T: Adrian says that Franziska stopped by and taught her how to use a whip. Now, I have a hard time seeing Adrian asking "hay teach me how 2 use whips :D"... I guess it COULD happen, but >_>

Both of Adrian's credit lines are about Franziska, and 2-4 says that Franziska is her new source of strength; she's finally let Celeste go. So from her side it's obvious.

Franziska, in offering to let Adrian get in touch with her at any time if she needed anything and offering to teach her how to use a whip, is interacting with Adrian and sort of reaching out to her in a way she doesn't do towards anybody else; not even her 'little brother.' Now, it could be protective of Adrian, it could be guilt over what she caused to Adrian in 2-4 (or both), it could be sisterly, platonic, or whatever.

But there is that bond~

Oh, I agree! And I can see why people just assume the series is about shota. But doing google searches and poking around the internet. . .it is super easy to find.

It's hard to get some people to see past it if they have their minds locked on the "shota image". At least that has been my experience so far.

True! The fanservice in the series does mostly go to Soubi/Ritsuka, which can look skeevy as all fuck, I know. I once cajoled a friend into reading the manga, and she was absolutely shocked when she came to the Zero girls, since she had thought it was all about the shouta and yaoi, and here was an entire volume dedicated to a lesbian couple! It's very easy to get the wrong idea about Loveless. It sure as hell isn't for everyone, but it's also not all about the shouta.

Yes! It is very easy to get a wrong idea.

And like you say. It isn't for everyone. Someone on my FList asked about it. Knowing what they already liked, I didn't think they would get in to it well. But I took the time to try and explain the plot itself without giving things away. And then explained certain misconceptions with it.

The Zero girls are gorgeous. :3
