Constantine. But I heard they're only making 13 episodes and a second season is uncertain :(

I've heard good things about it, and I've been meaning to give it a look.

I really like it. I don't know how it compares to something like Supernatural, but I like how they're dealing with the heaven/hell/occult elements thing (that's an issue to me, because I'm not religious and - suspension of disbelief).

I'm also liking the characters more than I thought I would. Especially John himself, but I love how imperfect they all are.

tbh I wasn't that attracted to Supernatural (didn't dislike it, just couldn't really get into it) so that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Main thing for me is good characters, so if they are good then there's a good chance I could get into it. I'll give it a try. With my luck I'll love it and it'll end up cancelled lol

That's currently what I fear.

Unfortunately, I think it's already been canned?

I was leery about it because I'm a fan of the comics from way back (Why yes, I own a copy of Swamp Thing #37, his first full appearance, why do you ask?) and I really didn't like the Keanu version. However, so far it's totally engaged me. It's got an old-school vibe that I really like, and they had the balls to do the hunger demon story, even if they did tone down John's utter bastardry.

Only thing I liked about the Keanu version was Tilda Swinton - but hey, that's most because it's Tilda Swinton.

I must admit I'm not one of the original comic fans - out of curiosity, how does the hunger demon story compare?

It was a good bit darker in the original. The demon fed rarer appetites, New Yorkers gorging themselves to death on jewels, religious icons, old comic books, and in the case of one bodybuilder, his own flesh. And Gary Lester never volunteered to be anything but bait, his desperate heroin withdrawal drawing in the demon to where he sat strapped in a chair. One of the last coherent things he said was "There's no bottle to trap it in. Wait... where's the bottle?" The very last thing he said was, roughly, "Constantine, you bastard!" And after that it was just screaming and screaming.

Constantine is a bastard, and I like that the show tries to demonstrate that within the confines of what they can do with a TV protagonist.
