For me, if I wanted to look at a hot guy* I'd be even more likely to play as a female character (which I usually do the first time but sometimes switch it up later) so I can romance a hot guy, because you don't spend a lot of time looking at the main character while you're playing them, do you? (unless it's third person and their ass is just that glorious I guess)

*I'm a straight woman but rarely find men in video games attractive

Ah, I don't play games where romancing is a thing. I was mostly thinking of like WoW and single player games like Devil May Cry.

ah, makes more sense. I've heard a lot of guys say they play as women on WoW or similar games because it's less awkward for them than "staring at a guy's butt all the time".

idk, I think people just experience third person games differently. I don't really spend time looking at my character either way. /shrug

I play eye-candy menz, because I like looking at them, and pairing with the males in the game.

Of course I mod them to be very hot.
