Heaven forbid a person makes sure that the other person they're about to have sex with is actually into it!

These laws also allow for non-verbal communication. Therefore things like hopping into bed, taking off one's clothes, and other things that signal a wish to progress to the next base/level, etc. all do count as affirmative consent. Things like being unconscious or freezing up and being non-responsive do not count as affirmative consent.

I also don't know why verbal consent is such a big deal. "Hey, wanna do it?" is a common question in my household. Saves time. :)
