The difference for me is that, unlike so many of the counterarguments brought up (physical strength, intelligence, etc.) magic is a binary. You either have it or you don't. And, well, technically speaking, physical force most definitely is might.

I'm not saying that in the Harry Potter world that Muggles should be viewed as worthless. But I don't see why wizards would be wrong to view themselves as superior. It's not like white people vs black people. There's nothing a white person can do that a black person can't. There's a shit-ton that a wizard can do that a muggle can't.

You're taking so much flack for this position, but I get you. Wizards could literally magic away tons of the diseases and problems that plague muggles. People keep comparing it to handicapped people, but it's not like handicapped people. It'd be like handicapped people if non-handicapped people had the ability to cure handicaps and didn't because we just didn't feel like it.

They don't though, which isn't very superior of them.

But there's also tons of shit that some muggles can do and that some wizards can't.

Honestly, I don't think it's conceptually different from any other kind of talent - more remarkable, yes, but not conceptually different. I mean, yes, it's true - all other things being equal, a wizard is 'better' than a muggle. But you could say the same about any other talent - all other things being equal, a stronger person is 'better' than a weaker, or whatever talent you want to mention. But the point is that all other things are very rarely equal. That's why it's wrong to say that wizards are intrinisically superior to muggles.
