Dragon Age [Possible Spoilers Ahead]

Fandom Secrets, please draw me like one of your French girls squee about Dragon Age with me.

The companions. So much love for this group. I didn't think I'd like anyone more than the DA2 party but somehow I do.

I'll post spoilery comments below so that they're under a thread collapse.

I'm not finished yet, but I need to squee somewhere before I burst. I have to do seven solid days of work at least to make up for my first DA:I binge and I am dying.

I love all of the companions. All of them. My favourites are Iron Bull, Cassandra, and Cole.

I did the Warden quest with a Warden Alistair D: So I think my official playthrough will be the next one, with a few changes to the Keep.

So, thoughts? Favourite bits? Favourite characters?

I love everyone too! Some more, some less (as always), but I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I became attached to everyone. I think the biggest shock for me was Solas; I didn't know what to expect from him, and I didn't put much thought into his character. He's pretty damn interesting, and he and my Inquisitor have a cute little friendship. That scene where you speak in the fade and then wake up was amazing. (Made even more amazing by the fact that my Inquisitor is a dwarf, so that was fun.)

I'm romancing Iron Bull, and I've got to say, I'm very satisfied with Iron Bull as a whole. He has some of the most funny (and unexpectedly cute/sweet) banter I've heard. Most of my favorites involve him, and I've definitely heard my share of banter between others too, but seriously...Bull and Blackwall (pink axe!), Bull and Vivienne (he knows when he's been bested), Bull and Dorian (get a room), Bull and Cass (Cass is totes amused by his flirting), Bull and Varric (Varric, will you ever stop wanting to know details about my characters sex life?), and, oh god, Cole's conversations with a romanced Bull were enough to make me blush. I love everyone. I'm really confused as to who to romance next playthrough, because everyone is just so great. It sucks only being able to take three people with you at a time! IT IS TOO LIMITING. WE SHOULD HAVE FOUR.

My favorites are probably Bull, Dorian, Cass, and Varric. My favorite bit so far...IDEK, I haven't done much of the story yet, I've mostly been trying to do all the quests, but I did like meeting Hawke again and seeing Varric and Hawke together again. Those two have one of the best relationships in the whole of Dragon Age. (The fight between Cass and Varric over Hawke was highly amusing, but Varric protecting Hawke is the sweetest thing.)

My dwarf dancing with the duchess at the ball is up there, as his face was practically in her bosom. I can't imagine how he and Bull danced. Bull must've just...picked him up, which is something I would pay good money to see. (Oh! Cullen getting hit on constantly was also great, and meeting Josephine's sister was fun. I wish Leliana would talk to me more, though.)

Uh...Blackwall carving that Griffon was cute, and Dorian's personal quest gutted me. Rarely have I wanted to give a fictional character a hug that bad. Cassandra's personal quest (with the book) was one of the most unexpected and endearing things I've seen from a companion! I like how lighthearted this game has been so far. I know it won't stay that way, so I'm just holding onto the good.

I'm going to be predictable and also mention that scene where Cullen, Josephine and Cassandra walk in on Iron Bull and the Inquisitor. Everything about that was beautiful, but Cullen's little snicker, Josephine's face and Cass's disgust made my week.

Edited to add that Solas calling Varric "Child of stone" made me aww, and that if someone doesn't get a chance to 'toss' me by the end of this game I am going to be very disappointed.

I totally agree with you on Solas. I wasn't too hyped from the character preview, but about an hour into playing I was like, "I love this guy."

I have the bug that means I barely get party banter, so I haven't heard most of their interactions with each other. I've been souring YouTube to catch up with it but there's not a lot on there yet. Apparently there's now a workaround. I'm so desperate to get back to the game that it physically hurts, but I need to eat and pay my rent. *blows a big raspberry at life*

Solas is great. Love his VA and the writing for his character. I have a feeling he's going to be more involved with the storyline later (this isn't a spoiler, btw, lol, just a feeling) and I'm excited to see how his personal arc plays out.

:( I've heard about that bug, and it must be the worst. Thankfully I haven't really experienced much of it. (I seem to get party convos every 30, 40 minutes at least. At times I'll get one every 10 to 15 minutes. I got lucky.) NGL, the party banter is always one of the best parts of these games, so I hope BioWare gets that bug fixed soon. Good luck with life; hope you get to play again soon, too!
