Terrible companies region-lock me out of their content because I live abroad, so fuck them.

Same.

I'm kind of paranoid about torrenting or other download sites so I'd much prefer a more secure legal option. But if there isn't one thanks to geographical restrictions then I take the risk.

If they don't care enough to provide a product to an audience who'd be willing to get it legally, then clearly they don't think my interest in their product matters at all so why should they care where I get it?

Basically, this.

It doesn't just extend to content like movies and tv shows, though. Some US websites straight-up make you pay to see their content, whereas it's free if you live in the US.

Why? Money, I guess, who knows.
