No, I don't think so.

I certainly would not mind (though these are not my ships) but realistically, I just don't think it will.

I also think it will be more easy to do with new characters than with established ones. To just sort of have it from the get-go.

I think your main hurdle there is that there's a large part of the audience (straight men, but also women - not everyone's a slasher) that just don't want to see two guys kiss. And would even drop a good show over it if it happened too often. And i'm not sure how exactly you'd work around that.
