they were interesting and loveable characters in CCS and Sakura's such a plot device now while Xiaolang has the personality of a board

I am SO GLAD I'm not the only one who thinks so. CLAMP keeps repeating that "the soul is the same" and they managed to convince me with nearly every character, but these two... nope, not feeling it.
