Last time was probably the hardest challenge strength-wise, so this time it's a softball: the sit ups challenge.

For a military-style sit up: Lie on your back, with your knees bent at a 90 degree angle, and put your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands on the side of your head (covering your ears). Press your lower back against the floor to begin the movement, curl up and touch your elbows to your knees (count one), then return to the starting position. Exhale as you come up; inhale on the way back down. Perform as many sit-ups as you can in 60 seconds. Stop the test when the movement becomes forcibly strained or when you start to lift your buttocks off the floor at the beginning of a repetition.

Your goal:

Female under 35: 15
Female 35 and over: 12
Male under 35: 19
Male 35 and over: 14

I suspect most of you won't need a difficulty modifier on this, but in case you do, try crunches - i.e., don't go all the way up, or place your legs at an elevated position so the movement necessary to go all the way is reduced.

BONUS: If you've got pics/vids, post 'em! Here's me doing the pushups test. My modifiers?

+1 For doing the under 30, despite being ancient
+2 For doing the male number of reps, despite being female
+3 For on knuckles instead of palms
+4 For doing them at an incline for more weight
+1000 For herpy's cat trying to gnaw my arm off the whole damn time

19 (+1/2 attempt not to crush his stupid cat) knuckle, incline pushups

I first met herpy in junior high school where we developed a shared love of video games and slash fanfiction. It was all femmeslash at first but I gradually corrupted him to the dark side with my undying love of gay pornography.

Right now I'm staying at his place eating his food and being savaged by his cat.

What I'm saying is we've been special touch friends for like... almost 20 years. Dag.

It's so depressing how hard real sit ups are for me. At least I did it kind of.
