Best Ways of Staying Warm

Inspired by the weather thread...

when it gets really cold, what are your go-to moves for staying warm and toasty?

Drinking tea while wearing a hat and scarf and sweater while being wrapped up in bed/couch with covers and watching a show/movie. Perhaps with some light pastries.

Layered clothing. Fluffy blankets to burrow in while watching TV. Hot cocoa and tea. Socks and slippers. I also do my exercising late at night and it helps keep my circulation pumping, which makes me feel warmer.

Layered clothing, an electric throw, and when it's REALLY cold, an old-fashioned hot water bottle for my feet.

Layers! And if you're worried about looking awful, challenge your layering mastery skills! How many collars can you get to peek out of the final sweater without overdoing it ♥

Proper gloves too if your outdoors. If you have to wear a pair of thinner gloves under thicker ones or mittens, that's good too.

And generally moving around keeps your body temperature up. It's very easy to just bundle yourself under every comforter and bed sheet you own, but you can't just lie down all day! Get cooking and dance while you do it!

Turning on the space heater, then curling up on the couch with a book or videogame, a heated blanket and three small dogs who've burrowed under the blanket and are vying for the best position around me. Sokka, being a dachshund and thus made of determination and spite, always wins spooning privileges, while Jig usually ends up pressed against my back and poor Pippin ends up on my feet. Sometimes one of the cats will curl up around my head. And I wonder why I have allergy troubles...

thermal underwear, long skirts, wool socks. A thick wool blanket, flannel sheets, and reading material that makes me feel warm--this is when I love to reread Maud Hart Lovelace's Betsy-Tacy books, or The Secret Garden.

One pair of wool socks for every day of the week. Plus thin finger gloves under all my other pairs of glove, silks under urrthang -- two under lined pants, and at least three layers before my sweater goes on. Which is then topped with a jacket. I'm from the desert living in cold country now, ok? Judge, away.

At home, I curl up next to the heaters and read or do homework with my cup a tea.

...Maybe two pairs...

blankets

lots and lots of blankets. and layers.

I hate having to wear layers but feeling bulky and overencumbered is still better than being cold.

I have a waterbed. Works better than anything lol. Which is good because I freeze to death in the winter.

I would have thought a water bed would be really cold?
