If it makes you feel better, they will be in the one shot manga that goes along with the movie (From what I've been told) There's also a kissing scene in the movie that takes place at a grove of cherry blossoms, andddd since the Naruhina kiss is them falling down to earth from the moon (lol makes sense if you know the plot) then it's most likely them

I've heard no SasuSaku interactions in the movie, and Sasuke is only in it for about two minutes.

There is no SasuSaku in the movie.
There is one NaruHina kiss in front of the moon and another at their wedding.

Well it pretty much didn't exist, he continued to treat her like shit, and got away essentially with no repercussions. He doesn't even have the decency to stay around and raise his kid, he's gotta go do whatever he feels like and still be rewarded for it.

Kishi said Sasuke wasn't exactly allowed back into the village, so he's still on his journey of redemption. He's planning on doing a manga about Bolt and Sarada, and Sasuke will be in it with Sakura, sooooo.

Also, Sasuke only acted the way he did because he wanted everyone to hate him. His plan was to distract everyone from fighting each other to fight him. He never actually planned on killing Sakura, she just wouldn't stop chasing him.

Not anon above, but I love how Sasuke just grows new motivations as the plot demands. Totally shows forethought and planning on the author's part!

lol You realize Sasuke being away is for plot purposes, right? Sarada likes Bolt because she too has daddy issues.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Did the manga ever specify what his journey of redemption involved, exactly? Like, does he just go around doing randomly heroic shit?

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
DA

Nope. When it comes to Sasuke and the whole mess involving him, nothing was really resolved.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Gotta say, of all the endings I envisioned for Sasuke over the course of the series, Deadbeat Dad was never one of 'em.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, yeah. Like, it doesn't make a lot of sense. For a dude who was so obsessed with his clan, you'd think he'd be there for his kid. And you'd think that they'd want to keep Sasuke under careful watch to make sure he didn't pull any bullshit.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but Kishi did. He said he wouldn't be allowed back in the village really, so he goes out into the world looking for reason why Kaguya and Obito happened and lots of convoluted shit. He said he wasn't ever going to write about it, so he didn't bother talking about it in the manga,

To say nothing of the fact that canon romance will never be quite as satisfying as fanfic, this isn't even that great of a canon romance.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Kishi is wicked shy/uncomfortable about writing romance. That's why it sucks in the manga. I don't know if it's some weird Japanese gender role things or he's just not very emotional (I know he has a wife and kids, and he loves the hell out of his cat, he put him in the final chapter LOL)

(Anonymous) 2014-12-07 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
I bet it's a little of column A, a little of column B.

Japanese men are typically too shy to say "I love you" even to their wives. And I'm not just pulling this out of my ass, ask any Japanese woman.

This is a little less modern, but often Japanese men wouldn't even directly propose marriage - they'd just say stuff like "so when are you quitting your job?" to pop the question.

I've met a handful of Japanese men who weren't painfully, cripplingly shy with women by Western standards, but guys like that are in the minority and considered weird.

Blame Kishimoto for the rushed ending/being completely unable to write romance.

And then go and enjoy all the fantastic art and fics that have come out of the fandom being energized by SasuSaku being confirmed as canon!

Are you me OP?
I shipped SasuSaku too but I ultimately am not satisfied with either character or the lack of development as a ship. At least NaruHina is getting a movie but I feel like SasuSaku will just be something that exists but only off-panel.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 11:10 am (UTC)(link)
Fret not, Kishimoto wants to make a movie about Bolt where you'll find the Sasusaku. Why stop milking the cashcow?

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Itasaku and Kakasaku are so great aren't they. :D
