It's been a while since I read the books, too, so it's very likely that you're right.

But in 'Faie terms, Seregil is pretty much in the same stage of life as Alec, despite their disparity in ages.

Though in one of the later books, Alec was thrown a party celebrating his 21st birthday and it was very jarring because I sorta forgot how young Alec is. He isn't written as very young, and Seregil isn't written as very old...

Either way, I must admit that the rape made very little impression on me, so I wasn't that bothered by it.
