The question is, frankly, meaningless. It's the point where there's just too much abstraction. I don't think either of the alternatives is seriously better, and I don't see the point in arguing between two bad alternatives - that everyone acknowledges are bad - in a completely theoretical post.

Have good casts. Like good shit. Try to acknowledge the most positive sides of things as much as possible without ignoring the bad. There's an end on it.

I dunno, some of the comments are interesting. Some people have said they'd rather have no representation than bad representation which is not a view you see much. No one is saying either of the two initial options is good and of course there are preferable alternatives, but the question itself I find sort of fun to think about.
