She's not a rapist because she took his heart. She's a rapist because she spent thirty years using mind control (which occasionally involved the stolen heart) to force a man to have sex with her against his will.

Basically she slipped him a roofie every night for three decades. Just because it wasn't violent doesn't mean it wasn't rape.

This. I like Regina as a character, and I personally believe in redemption and think she's on the path (even if she isn't quite as far along as the showrunners think), but it was rape. He did not willingly consent. She took away his ability to consent.

I agree. But then I've never understood the need to excuse bad actions of characters you like. Although it is slightly refreshing to see it for a female character for once rather than another white male. But it is still creepy and pointless.
