I'm going through something similar with my best friend, who lives 2500 miles away. She posts on FB about how I'm really her bestest friend ever, along with cutesy pictures and sayings about friends who are always there. But she barely answers when I text her, and I got so angry the last time, I didn't follow up on a text, wanting to see how long it would take for her to text me back. It took almost 3 weeks. "Sorry, things have been so crazy, blah, blah, blah" and all that time she's posting pics of her and friends of hers where she lives, going to dancing, going on retreat, making stupid Christmas ornaments. I know a part of it is jealousy, but the bigger part of me is "up to here" with how busy she tells me she is vs seeing all the things she's up to with her other friends. I don't need it, I really don't. And for the first time in 25 years of us being friends, I'm thinking of walking away.
