I got dragged by my mom to see Passion of the Christ once. I wasn't allowed to walk out, so I just went to sleep.

Made for an interesting conversation when she wanted to discuss it after.

Not just because of this comment, it's a combination of shit you've said in the past, but I get the impression your family is toxic fucking waste.

Don't get me wrong, I love my mom, but one of these days I'm gonna have to tell her she's why I'm an atheist.

Everybody kept going on about how great that film was so my friend and I rented it, and we watched it and were so fucking confused. Neither of us are really that religious and we knew of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, but we were like, "Soooo...this movie has an...ending. No beginning, no middle, just the end. OK..." I remember talking to a guy I had a crush on about the film and he got kind of pissed at me because I didn't like it. Turns out, he's a Christian that really liked the film. He couldn't understand why I wasn't deeply moved by the film, and I couldn't understand how he found it as a good film.
