So be totally fair, Mirrors Edge might be one of a few games that could survive at least Anita's "Women solve problems without violence, Women who solve problems with violence are too much like men and therefore unfeminist" bollocks, but I am still having the cold sweats thinking about how badly this could go.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was a fannish community where we share our thoughts on our fan related material in the hopes of starting a conversation and enjoying some human inter action.

If I was right: So... All of that. I am worried a game I enjoyed, and a new game I am looking forward to will be shit because Anita Sarkeesian has some bog level ideas about media. I mean, of all the games that needed blunt enrty level guidance in feminism, MIRRORS FUCKING EDGE is not one of them. of all the games that need the viewpoint of someone who doesn't recognise subtitles in the fucking Powerpuff girls... well I'm worried about this is the upshot.

I mean first of all, who fucking cares? How does Anita's involvement have any bearing on the game's quality? She's not a developer.

But also, where is the evidence for any of this? I've been Googling and all i can find are a bunch of shit about a campaign to get her removed from the game and a hysterical rant on Destructoid from 2 years ago. No press statements or anything to suggest EA is actually employing Anita.

And even if they were, so? Do we even know what role she'd actually be doing? She could be in PR, or advertising, or something like that, something public-facing, rather than anything to do with the game itself.

I'm sick and tired of gamer entitlement, and I say this as someone who plays games pretty much constantly. The game's not even out and you're making a snap judgment based on one harmless feminist icon ALLEGEDLY being involved with your pwecious pwecious game. A game that I might add is already relatively female-friendly with a largely female main cast.

Gamers are such children.

There's really no evidence that I can dig up to support the idea that she's working on ME2. But, if it helps you feel better, no one would let her fuck up a major franchise like you're fearing.

EA, Bioware, Bethesda, all these big game companies don't give a fuck about feminism, they care about their bottom line. And it will always be more profitable to release standard-formula games, not experimental woman-protag-who-fits-one-vlogger's-ideals games.

Look, I hate Sarkeesian. I think she's terrible in just about every way. But there is no way someone like her will have any actual, real input with a company like EA. (EA fucks up enough as it is, with or without Sarkeesian.) If there actually is any truth in this, I bet you it's mostly a clever marketing ploy by EA to get additional people to buy their games by saying "Hey, your weird 'feminist' icon worked on this".

What is so awful about Anita Sarkeesian? I've watched some of her feminist frequency videos on Youtube, and while they were nothing special, nothing set off warning bells.

Seriously on FS people here seem to think that Anita Sarkeesian is the devil incarnate. Meanwhile Darren Wilson gets a "he's alright, it wasn't his fault" kind of response.
