Yeah, no. Here's the thing: when I say faculty, I'm not saying "oh no! Maybe the guy who grades my papers will see me watching anime!" I'm a doctoral candidate who works very closely with faculty and also works FOR them as an employee. This is "oh no! My BOSS, who has a very big impact on my professional reputation within and outside this university, might see me watching anime and he has no damn idea what it even is except screaming teenagers with giant eyes! Maybe all he knows is hentai!"

Sometimes "fuck it, I don't care" is not the best approach.

You could watch it with ear buds on? I used to do that while listening to music at the gym. I think now they even have bluetooth headsets.
