16. What is with all the Haruhi hate lately? It's starting to get a little old, especially when no one can back it up.

OP here.

Some people just don't find her appealing, what with the arrogance and bossiness and blackmailing and whatnot.

I mean, if you like her BECAUSE she's self-important and amoral and et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, fine. But some people don't like these things.

I understand that you might not like the "arrogance and bossiness" but I think that calling her amoral is rather hyperbolic.

But my point is that's not all there is to her, she shows many different sides of herself as the series progresses. Haruhi Suzumiya is a pretty multi-faceted character and to ignore that comes across as bashing.

However, I can sympathize with the situation of fandom being enamored with a character you don't particularly care for.

Ah, I definitely don't want to come across as bashing. Yes, she does nice things now and then, yeah. But to me, the cons outweigh the pros, you know what I mean? That's only my opinion, though.

Not a big fan of her attention whoring. I like how the story is a sort of coming-of-age for her, but it still doesn't outweigh what a bitch she is for the majority of the series.
