what they said was "every cis person who writes a character as trans in their fanfic"

so i'm pretty much forced to assume that they mean, you know, writing a character as trans is bad

similarly, given their points about how no cis person can ever really know what it's like to be a trans person, i have to conclude that they meant, you know, what they said

I've always heard that it was wrong to talk over trans people, but apparently it's fine and dandy to do that when the literal interpretation of what they say makes them look bad.

All threadbait aside, nobody should get a pass on shit they say because of a label they claim.

Though honestly? This is op venting anonymously, not laying down rules, so... it is what it is. People do that sometimes.

DA--I've personally got a problem with telling people what they really said or really meant, when they've actually already said it pretty clearly. OP was eloquent, heartfelt, and very angry. I'm gonna believe s/he said what s/he meant. My reactions to those statements are irrelevant so I'll keep them to myself.
