NAYRT but I don't think it makes sense to say that something has to be as bad and on the same scale as the Holocaust to be considered genocide

Are they actively trying to murder everyone of their race/religion, or are these people getting in the crosshairs of their interests? Because there is a difference...

Well, that's kind of the whole fucking question at issue, and not one that I can definitively answer. But that's certainly the claim of the people who think it's a genocide - they would say yes, they're consciously trying to eliminate that specific ethnic group. Of course, they would say they're trying to do so in pursuit of some specific interest, but the same could be said of the Nazis. TBH I'm not sure that's a dichotomy that necessarily makes much sense.

Fuck man, Israel isn't even negotiating or doing any of whatever you are trying to tell us here, they're outright killing people who are on their way and claiming everything by force. If it was all "political/imperialist" what did the kids do to deserve to be killed and bombed too?

I don't agree with that definition, though.

It's too Judeocentric to claim that Nazis exterminated Jews simply out of hatred for Jews. The Nazi party was trying to advance their country's position, and individual Nazis had an economic self-interest in robbing and enslaving "non-Aryans."

If you think that anti-Semitic Gentiles are driven by a consuming hatred of Jews rather than their own selfish lusts and passions, you really don't understand. Most sin is selfish and self-interested. Pretending that selfishness is not sin because it's selfish, and that the Holocaust was somehow different and not self-interested, is not only (ahem) self-serving, but a terrible way of denying clear parallels.

Is Israel engaged in genocide, as a matter of policy? Maybe not.
Is there genocidal sentiment among constituents of the Israeli right-wing? Yes, and it's not a secret that there has been even since the 1970's.
Is Israel effectively engaged in quasi-genocidal activity, in effect? Yeah, more or less.

Also:

Is Hamas engaged in genocide, as a matter of policy? Not competently, but they do advocate a sort of purge, apparently.
Is there genocidal sentiment among constituents of Hamas? More or less, but again, driven by self-interest with a large dollop of demonization, much like anti-Arabism in Israel.
If Hamas won, would they engage in quasi-genocidal activity, in effect? They might not get very many people.

There are two sides that both have very terrible racist elements, and destructive self-righteous propaganda. One side has the other in a chokehold, so that side is getting a lot of hate internationally.
